Emergency Certificate Instructions

An Emergency Certificate is issued to a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago to facilitate travel into Trinidad and Tobago in an emergency, when his/her current passport or travel document is unavailable because it is either lost, stolen, mutilated or expired. Upon arrival in Trinidad & Tobago the holder must surrender the document to the Immigration Authority.

 

An application form for an Emergency Certificate must be completed and accompanied by the ORIGINAL and one (1) coloured photocopy of the following documents:

  1. Original Birth Certificate (with Affidavit, if applicable)
  2. Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate, Change of Name Certificate or Deed Poll (if applicable)
  3. Trinidad & Tobago passport (expired/mutilated)
  4. Trinidad & Tobago valid photo ID or other valid photo ID
  5. Evidence of Landed Immigrant Status (if applicable)
  6. Canadian Citizenship Certificate/Card (if applicable)
  7. Two (2) coloured photographs measuring 35mm x 45mm taken within the last 6 months
  8. No fee is applicable.
